Intro: 1) The Biblical account of the Ark and its importance.

4) The Ark: a type of Christ.
1. THE CALL TO NOAH.
A. This was a call to one who had already experienced the grace of God. Gen 6:8. 11Tim 2:19.
i) This was a heart already prepared by God. Ezek 11:19.
ii) Being prepared it was only too willing to obey God. Psa 110:3.
B. The call invited; no one was forced.
i) Man is a free moral agent. He has the power to act freely.
ii) He will act according to his nature. This nature was already changed.
iii) Being a free moral agent he is responsible to God for all his actions. Acts 17:30.
iv) Repenting will determine your final destiny.
11.THE ARK. It typified The Lord Jesus Christ.
A. It was built because of God love for His own Gen 6:8. 13-22.
B. Jesus died as an act of God's love. Rom 5:8.
"On Calvary more than anywhere else, the great loving heart of God is revealed to man; This was real love. When Christ the Mighty Maker died for man the creature's sin." This was love truly manifested for sinners. 1 John 4:10.
C. The Ark was built with only the capacity to save what God wanted saved.
The Ark was 450ft long, 75ft wide and 45 ft high. It had one and a half million cub ft for 1700 species of animals, 100,00 species of insects, 987 species of reptiles and 10,087 species of birds.
D. Jesus vicarious and substitutionary death was only efficacious upon those given to Christ by the Father. John 6:37.
E. The Ark consisted of only one Door. John 10:7,9. Jesus is the only Door of the
sheep
F. There might have been many ways to get on the Ark but only one way into the Ark.
111. THE OBEDIENCE OF THE PREPARED HEART.
A. The Flood represented destruction. Everything outside of the Ark died.
B. Noah did as God commanded. Gen 6:22. 7:5,9,
C. In obeying the Patriarch Noah, his family also was saved.
CONCL: 1) Families are being torn apart because of disobedience in the homes. Families can and will be blessed if the Patriarch once more is in his rightful place.
2) Jesus is a type of the Ark. In Christ you are
i) Saved. John 3:36
ii) Kept saved. John 5:24.
