SUB: GOD'S PLEASURE IN HIS CREATION.
TEXT: PS 104:31.
Intro: 1) There must be a basic understanding of God.
          a. He is complete in Himself.
          b. He has no deficiencies.
             i) He craves nothing so He cannot be bribed.
            ii) He has no weakness so He cannot be blackmailed.
           iii) He has no superiors so He cannot be forced.

1 HIS ACT OF CREATION. In Genesis Chapters 1&2, His work of creation is recorded.

A. He created Light, the Firmament that caused the dew to water the earth, the seas, land and vegetation; the stars the sun and the moon;  He created the sea life and the animal life and then he topped off His creative acts by creating man out of the dust of the ground (Gen 2:7) breathing into man and making man a living soul.

11 DOES GOD TAKE PLEASURE IN HIS CREATION?

A. Notice our text:  it is not something hoped for by the Psalmist but a confirmation that God surely rejoices in His work. Compare Numbers 14:21. and Hab 2:14.

B. After His creative acts, He said...it is good. 4, 12,18, 21,25. and note vs 31.

C. We can only conclude...Yes, He is pleased with His creation.

111 WHY DOES GOD TAKE PLEASURE IN HIS CREATION? There are several reasons.

A. His creation is an expression of His glory. Ps 19:1.

B. His creation praises Him. Ps 148:3-5,7. They bear testimony about Him.
   i) His wonderful taste revealed through "variety"
    a.colors.  b. races.  c.varying intelligence.  d. varying talents.
   ii) His wisdom ... humans ...the most complex creation
     Ps 139:14.

C. He takes pleasure in His creation because they reveal His power. Isa 40:26.   The complex galaxies.

D. He takes pleasure in His creation because it points us to Him.
  i) Beholding His creation, we ought to stand in awe and wonder and praisingly proclaim, :What a mighty God He is. Marvellous in glory and awesome in power, loving in mercy and gracious in salvation"
  ii) We ought to be humble before this God, Who created us for His honor and glory.

CONCL: Among His many marvellous works is His inspired word, which tells us of...
  i) His concern for us in our sins and the ultimate consequences of them.
  ii) His providing a satisfactory sustitute through Jesus Christ , the Lamb.
iii) His promises to us, John 6:37.

APP: He does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked but that the wicked turn from his ways and live Ezek 33:11.
