TEXT: JER 1:7-10. ACTS 9:5,6.
SUB: The Person GOD Uses.
Intro: 1) God calls Jeremiah.
2) God calls Saul of Tarsus.
3) Most christians wants to be used of God and everyone can be used of God. 1 Pet 5:2 sys..be of a ready mind.
4) There are certain prerequisites though that are needed.
1. Be ready to suffer for Christ. Acts 9:16. 2 Tim 3: 12.
A. Be ready to suffer defeat or even failure sometimes. eg: Joshu at Ai. Josh: 7.
B. Be ready to be suffer deception. eg Judas betraying the Lord.
C. Be ready to suffer opposition from you own at times. eg Pauls own people oppopsed him in preaching the Gospel.
D. Be ready to sometimes suffer bodily affliction. eg Paul; Timothy; Peter etc.
E. Glorify the Lord in your suffering. Bear it in the Spirit of Christ.
11. Be ready to surrender all for Christ.
A. Be ready to obey Him in everything. 1 Sam 15:22.
B. Be willing to forsake all for Him. Luke 14:33
C. Your reward is certain Matt 19: 29.
111. Be ready to serve. Mark 10: 44,45. The Lord set the perfect example. He served in the highest and the lowest capacities.
A. Be ready to serve wherever the Lord places you.
B. To serve these are some pre-requisites...
i) Crucify yourself daily.
ii) Depend on Divine guidance.
iii) Understand and know the meaning of prayer.
iv) Be filled with the Holy Spirit and
v) Cultivate a heart of compassion.
1V. Be ready to Stand. Eph 6:11.
A. Stand for the Truth as taught and proclaimed by the Lord and His servants throughout the ages. Paul and Jude called it " the Faith".
B. Stand upon your convictions. Do not allow anyone or anything to move you from the convictions given to you by the Holy Spirit.
C. Stand true, regardless of the consequences. God will reward you.
Concl: 1) Keep your eyes on the Lord.
2) Understand your weakness and the Lord's Power.
3) Do not be disturbed by others. Just do the Lord's will for your life.
